Our member Keith Brooks recently discovered Pleasington Priory on a fabulous day when the sun was shining in through the stained glass windows. He took these lovely images of the inside and outside for our interest.
He commented: “When I went to visit I was impressed by its size and was lucky to meet a man, the priory organist, who had arrived to deliver 200 new hymn books. He invited me to go inside and I was even more impressed by the splendour of the interior. How lucky I was to be there just at that time. I was left wondering why so small place as Pleasington had such a large church and if they needed 200 new hymn books, they must have a large congregation.”
Incidentally, one of the pictures shows a gargoyle clearly modelled on one of our members. Can you identify the model?
